“This is the best way to see Shakhrisabz if you are going to be travelling between Bukhara and Samarkand already. There just isn't enough there to spend a full day trip from Samarkand and the total time driving is about the amount of travel time it would take to go from Bukhara to Samarkand by Afrasiyab and then take a roundtrip car ride to Shakhrisabz. So it saves time. For me, the best part of the tour was that there was no guide, only a driver, so we could enjoy Shakhrisabz on our own. My only complaint was about the size of the car. Our guide Luna was very knowledgeable. On the way back we stopped for lunch on the mountain road but not until like 3pm so bring snacks.”
